Rodeo Queens

Jessica Helms

queen2002My name is Jessica Helms and I am the granddaughter of Tom and Gaye McCaslin, who reside in Gardnerville, Nevada. I graduated from Douglas High School in 2001, and I just completed my freshman year at the University of Nevada, Reno. I am a Pre-Business major, and I plan on pursuing a degree in Marketing within the next four years. I also plan on using my Marketing degree to own and operate my own horse-related business. My dream has always been to make a living involving the things I love the most, horses. In addition, my hobbies include spending time with my two quarter horses, which I use to trail ride and compete in barrel races across the state of Nevada, snowboarding at Mt. Rose Resort, Kirkwood, and Heavenly, working out at the gym, and spending as much time with my family as possible. I am just excited to be presented with the opportunity to compete for the Miss Reno Rodeo title, and I want to wish all of my fellow contestants the best of luck throughout the week.

Miss Reno Rodeo Pageant 2003

Dear Miss Reno Rodeo 2003 Contestants: As Pageant Co-Chairmen we welcome to the Miss Reno Rodeo Pageant for 2003. We are excited about this year’s competition and are planning to have a great time!! If you do not feel you meet the qualifications or cannot meet the obligations as Miss Reno Rodeo over the next year please do not apply. If you would like to promote the “Wildest Richest Rodeo in the West”. One of the pre-pageant events this year is the Second Annual Miss Reno Rodeo Clinic, scheduled for March 29th. We strongly recommend that you participate in this clinic. There will be valuable information that you may not be able to get in any other way. As an incentive, if you apply to run for Miss Reno Rodeo, we will waive 1/3 of the clinic fee for you. All Applications, with entry fee and other required materials, must be received at the Reno Rodeo Office on MARCH 14, 2003 before the close of business at 5:00 P.M. About two weeks after that, we will mail you your Contestant Package. This will give you a more complete schedule of events, subjects for speech, horsemanship patterns, and other information. There will be a mandatory contestant meeting April 29th. You can contact us from here. If you have any questions before the April meeting, you are more than welcome to call or e-mail. We look forward to meeting with you in April.
